Frozen pizza

Welcome. This page explains exactly how to bake your pizza from frozen in simple, easy-to-follow steps. The instructions below are written to be clear even if this is your first time preparing this product.

Before you start

Everything you need to know at a glance before the pizza goes into the oven.

Start from Frozen
Oven temperature 200°C
Estimated bake time about 85 minutes
Minimum center temperature 75°C

In brief

  • Keep pizzas frozen until baking time.
  • Preheat the oven fully before putting the pizza in.
  • Start watching the pizza after about 60 to 75 minutes.
  • Most pizzas will take about 85 minutes, but exact time can vary by pizza and by oven.
  • The popup timer is your main guide; for best assurance, check that the center reaches 75°C.
  • Save the paper lid if you may store leftovers in the refrigerator later.

Step-by-step baking instructions

  1. Keep the pizza frozen until you are ready to bake

Bake the pizza directly from frozen. This gives the best texture and helps the pizza cook evenly from the outside to the center.

  2. Place a baking tray on the bottom level of the oven

Put a cookie sheet or oven tray on the bottom rack or lowest oven level before preheating. This helps support an even bake and gives the crust a better finish.

  3. Preheat the oven to 200°C

Let the oven come fully up to temperature before baking. A fully preheated oven helps the pizza bake more consistently.

  4. Remove the plastic wrapping and the paper lid

Remove the outer plastic wrapping before baking and set the paper lid aside. If you have leftovers, the lid can be useful for covering the pizza in the refrigerator later.

  5. Leave the pizza in its pan while baking

Place the pizza in the oven in its pan. The pan helps support the pizza during baking and is part of the intended preparation method.

  6. Start checking the pizza after about 60 to 75 minutes

Most pizzas will need around about 85 minutes, depending on the variety and your oven. Start checking the pizza after about 60 to 75 minutes, preferably without opening the oven more than necessary.

  7. Wait for the popup timer to rise

The popup timer is designed to indicate when the pizza is ready. Continue baking until the popup timer has risen, and for best assurance, make sure the center of the pizza reaches 75°C before serving.

  8. Remove from the oven and discard the popup timer

Once the popup timer has risen, take the pizza out of the oven. A spatula and a small cutting board can make this easier. Support the pizza and pan with the spatula, then carefully slide it onto the cutting board. Remove the popup timer and discard it.

  9. Let the pizza rest briefly, then slice and serve

The pizza will be very hot when it comes out of the oven, so let it rest for a short time before serving. We find it easiest to cut out one quarter of the pizza first, rather than trying to cut the whole pizza at once, since the cheese can melt back together. Use a spatula to lift out that quarter, then cut it into smaller pieces on a plate or cutting board. Repeat with the remaining quarters as needed.

How to store and reheat leftovers

Storing leftovers

If you have pizza left over, refrigerate it within 2 hours. To speed cooling, you can place the pizza, still in its pan, into a clean shallow dish or tray with a small amount of cold water for a short time, provided the aluminum pan has not been damaged. Once cooled, cover it and place it in the refrigerator. Keeping the paper lid can make covering and storing leftovers easier.

Reheating leftovers

For the best texture, remove leftover slices from the pan before reheating. Warm the pizza in the microwave on high for 30 to 60 seconds to heat the inside. Then transfer it to a frying pan over medium heat for a few minutes to crisp the crust.

Recap

How long does baking usually take?

Most pizzas take about 85 minutes, but exact baking time can vary depending on the pizza and your oven. Start checking after 60 to 75 minutes and wait for the popup timer to rise.

How do I know when the pizza is done?

The popup timer is designed to indicate when the pizza is ready. For the most reliable result, use a cooking thermometer to check that the center of the pizza has reached 75°C before serving.

Should I keep the paper lid?

Yes. It is useful if you want to store leftovers in the refrigerator.

What is the best way to reheat leftover pizza?

Remove the pizza from the pan, microwave it on high for 30 to 60 seconds to warm the inside, then finish it in a frying pan over medium heat for a few minutes to crisp the crust.
