What makes our frozen Chicago deep dish different?

Start by forgetting the usual idea of frozen pizza.

Our pizzas are frozen raw, not par-baked, weigh around 1 kg, and are made to be baked at home as a shared, premium meal rather than a quick supermarket fallback. You order online first, collect from a pickup point, and available flavors may vary by location.

Why frozen pizza can be better than expected

Typical frozen pizzas are built around speed and low price. We chose a different approach. Instead of asking how cheap or fast a frozen pizza could be, we asked how good it could be.

That led to a larger, heavier, richer pizza that bakes from frozen raw and takes the time it needs. So while ours is frozen, it is built on a completely different set of priorities from the supermarket norm.

That difference matters. It means more waiting, but also more reward: a kitchen filled with baking aroma, a pizza with real structure and weight, and a meal that feels planned rather than improvised. It is still convenient, because the preparation is already done for you, but it aims for something more satisfying than ordinary frozen pizza.

Does it bake like a typical frozen pizza?

Our pizza bakes a little differently from many thin, store-bought frozen pizzas. Because it is thicker, fully raw, and made without preservatives, it takes a bit more time in the oven. That extra bake time helps deliver a richer flavor, a more satisfying finish, and a wonderful aroma in your kitchen while it bakes. For best results, keep the pizza frozen at -18°C or below until you are ready to bake, and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 75°C. A pop-up timer is included to help you know when baking is complete. Please remove the timer before eating.

Why pickup locations carry a limited selection

That is intentional. Our pizzas are not designed to compete with low-cost everyday freezer food. Ours sit in a different category: larger, heavier, slower to bake, and built as a premium meal.

Selling through pickup points lets us offer a broader range instead of limiting ourselves to only the few safest flavors. Each location carries a smaller selection, but the overall menu becomes more interesting.

How long before I can pick up my pizza after ordering?

We show live inventory at each pickup location, so you can see whether a pizza is available for immediate pickup. If it is not currently available, you can still place your order and join the queue.

As soon as your pizza is ready, we will send you an email with a QR code for pickup. The QR code will also appear in the app. Because the pizza remains frozen, you can pick it up at your convenience. We will hold your order for up to 7 days, after which it will be automatically refunded and offered to the next person in line.

It’s huge. Is it really a pizza?

That debate exists even in America. Deep dish is taller, richer, and more substantial than the flat pizzas most people picture, so some people call it a pie instead.

We are happy with either description. If anything, the comparison helps make the point: this is pizza of a different kind. And interestingly, in the City of Big Shoulders, a 23 cm, 1 kg deep dish is still considered a small pizza.

Why it bakes differently

Chicago Deep Dish is built differently from most pizzas. Although it is baked in a deep pan, the crust itself is not thick and bready. It bakes into a firm, buttery, biscuit-like crust that supports the filling.

Because the pizza is frozen raw and baked for longer, the layers matter. The cheese goes directly on the dough to help protect it from burning and to keep the crust crisp. The toppings go in the middle, and the tomato sauce is spread on top, shielding everything below as the pizza bakes.

Each pizza also includes a pop-up timer in the centre, to help you know when it is ready. No guesswork, no cutting in too early.
